It’s official — and it’s crushing Browns Nation. After nine loyal years, David Njoku just dropped an emotional bombshell: his time in Cleveland is OVER.
The Instagram Post That Broke Every Browns Heart
In a raw, heartfelt message, the 29-year-old tight end wrote: “the time for me to find a new home has come and all I can think of is just the gratefulness in my heart. The City of Cleveland will forever be home.”
Forever home… but no longer his football home. The words hit like a freight train.
From “Ain’t F—ing Leaving” to Tearful Exit
Just months ago, amid trade rumors, Njoku defiantly told reporters: “I’m not going nowhere. I ain’t f—ing leaving.”
He stayed. He fought. But as the season collapsed and GM Andrew Berry warned of “significant turnover” for the league’s lowest-scoring offense two years running, reality set in.
A Legendary Career Cut Short
Njoku leaves as one of the greatest tight ends in franchise history — second only to Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome in receptions (384) and touchdown catches (34) by a TE.
His 2023 Pro Bowl season delivered career-best 81 catches, 882 yards, and 6 scores. Pure dominance.
Yet injuries robbed him of 11 games over the past two years, and 2025 saw a painful dip: just 33 receptions for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Rookie Who Took His Spotlight
Harold Fannin Jr. exploded onto the scene as a rookie, leading the team with 72 catches, 731 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Was this rising star the final push out the door?
What’s Next for Njoku?
Still in his prime, Njoku is about to hit free agency hungry for a contender. Could he resurrect his career elsewhere and stick it to the Browns? The drama is just beginning.
Browns fans — are you devastated? Where should Njoku sign next? Sound off!
