Mexico City, Your NFL Drought Is Finally OVER!
For years, the most passionate football fans south of the border have been starving. Since that electric 2022 showdown, silence. No Monday nights, no rivalries, no touchdowns echoing through the thin air of Estadio Azteca’s successor. Until now.
Roger Goodell Just Lit the Fuse
Speaking with fire in his voice, the NFL commissioner dropped the news every Mexican fan has been praying for: the league is storming back to Mexico City in December 2026 for a full regular-season clash at the newly revamped Estadio Banorte.
“We’re heading back to Mexico City in December, which I think is wonderful for our fans in Mexico,” Goodell declared. “They’re redoing the stadium for the World Cup. This will be a chance for us to get back there this December. We can’t wait for that either.”
A Multi-Year Conquest Begins
This isn’t a one-off. The NFL locked in games at Estadio Banorte for 2027 and 2028 too — a full takeover. Mexican fans aren’t just getting a taste; they’re getting the whole feast.
2026: The Biggest International Invasion Yet
Nine international games are now locked for 2026. That’s Paris (Saints confirmed), Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, Munich, Madrid, and three massive London battles — plus the Mexico City explosion.
- Passion that rattles the stands
- Altitude that turns games into legends
- A fanbase ready to prove they’re louder than anyone
The question burning every message board: Which teams get the honor — and the challenge — of playing in front of that roaring sea of green, white, and red?
One thing is certain: when the NFL touches down in Mexico City again, the world will feel it.
